I am interested in computer science education, computational thinking, equity, and how those subjects interact with creativity. I am currently working toward my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology / Educational Technology at Michigan State University.
Prior to coming to Michigan, I taught for twelve years in independent schools in both Ohio and Virginia. My experiences in education includes faculty development, technology management, teaching multiple courses related to computing, and curriculum development.
Instructional approaches that encourage flexibility, experimentation, and trans-disciplinary learning have always interested me and guide my research. I earned a B.S. in Visual Communication Technology from Bowling Green State University and a M.S. in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems from the University of North Texas.
I enjoy camping, biking, cooking, gardening, and reading. I do not recommend that you try all of those at once.
